Summary

Description

This stelae field is near the so-called Bath of the Queen of Sheba in the Ethiopian city of Axum.

If this site is like the North Stelae Field, where the largest stelae are located, the ground is honeycombed with passages and burial chambers.

These stelae, or obelisks, may be over 1,700 years old.
